Kandi Burruss had conducted several interviews where she opened up about her decision to use a surrogate mother to welcome her third child, Blaze Tucker.
Kandi, of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, renowned recently met Tamron Hall, where she explained that many people do not understand the process and therefore have an incomplete or false idea of how it works.
The singer and reality star said that several family members were confused to learn that she had another woman who would carry and deliver her child.
The businesswoman had this to say, “A lot of people don’t really have the information, so they don’t really know. People say, “Well, why do you want to do this?” And then, they automatically think it’s a vain decision; that you do it just because you don’t want to [carry the baby]. ”
Kandi was honest with other women who are considering surrogacy in the near future – she revealed that the process was long and that they should start early.
The presenter revealed, “You have to start having these conversations now, because it’s not a quick process. The IVF clinic we used requires surrogate and parent mental health tests. She added, “The whole thought process is: it’s your baby but his body. In other words, if [the biological mother] is not feeling well or if things [affect her health], she can say “terminate the pregnancy”. While that hasn’t stopped me from wanting to move on, there are a lot of things you don’t know. ”
Kandi confessed that she and her husband Todd Tucker are eternally grateful to their surrogate mother, Shadina Blunt, who helped them realize their dream by carrying their miracle baby.
The mother of three said, “Shadina was amazing and I am happy to say that she is now part of the family. I very much agree with my decision to use a substitute. Seeing her [carrying our daughter] doesn’t make me feel bad or take anything away from me. My baby is my baby and it has been a blessing for us to help us have our baby. “
